family food confidence: one experiment at a time

what is food labs?
Food Labs is a hands-on, low-pressure way for children and families to explore food together.
It focuses on building confidence, curiosity and familiarity. Children become “Food Scientists” — exploring, noticing and experimenting, without pressure to eat.
Designed for professionals working with children and families, Food Labs can be adapted for different ages, needs and settings — from schools and family hubs to community food projects and outdoor spaces.
